This month we will focus on the death, burial and the resurrection of Christ Jesus. Jesus gave his disciples the gospel story – that He would be put to death but on the third day would be raised from the dead. He delivered the good news to these men who were distressed. They failed to understand the hope of His message – resurrection. God’s solution to death was resurrection. It took the Holy Spirit for them to understand all that they had seen and to recognize that they too had been raised to walk in the newness of life. Because it’s true, you and I have hope. No matter how dark life gets for us, the resurrection of Christ is the light that gives us hope.
