Assurance of Salvation

Everybody wants to know if they’re secure in Christ. And there’s certainly teaching that raises doubts as to the assurance of salvation. If we’re going to experience the assurance of our salvation it’s going to start in the reality of the resurrection and the fact that our sins have been forgiven. Peter addresses it in his second letter: “For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.” 2 Peter 1:9 * Why is it not preached that we must be born again?
* What does the Bible really say about repentance? Do you have to repent to be saved? * What about bearing fruit?
