Our new series explores the book of 1 John. 1 John is an exciting letter, giving us insight into the Christian life. It’s a timely study in the world today. The author doesn’t identify himself, but it is widely attributed to John. We can trust that he wrote it because of the themes are covered, phraseology, and the claim that the author has firsthand knowledge of Jesus. It appears that John wrote this letter toward the end of his life. 1 John is an eyewitness account of Jesus Christ himself and is rich in application for us, just as it was for the church in Ephesus.
