The Will of God: A New Covenant

This month we’re going to be discussing the will of God. Do you know the will of God for your life? So often we think of God’s will as the perfect plan for our lives. And when we don’t find that “perfect plan” we can get stuck in the mud. In Hebrews 8:8 “… a time is coming when I will make a new will with the people of Israel … ” The old covenant was more like a contract. It had “if then” statements. And Israel failed to live up to that will. So God made a new will. Hebrews 9:16 states: “In the case of a will,[d] it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it”. And once Jesus died this new covenant went into effect. * James asks if it’s possible to live a sinless life after coming to Christ. * What did Paul mean by “finishing the race”?
* Ryan asks about the 430 years between the covenants.
