By Faith, We Uphold the Law

Romans 3 at first glance looks like Paul is joining faith and works. Romans 3:25, 27 “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood–to be received by faith. … he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” How do we participate in this grace? By faith. Both Jew and Gentile enter into the grace of the New Covenant by faith. Romans 3:31 “Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.” * Is it wrong for a Christian to call themselves if we are indwelt by God? * Brad asks about showing oneself approved.

About Basic Gospel

Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, Bob grew up in a Christian home and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 13. During his high school and college years, Bob struggled with the question of how to live the Christian life.
