They Will Call Him Immanuel!

We’ve been sharing passages about the birth of Christ. Matthew describes it this way: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”) 1:23. So many look at the virgin birth and reject it. But was it necessary for Mary to be a virgin? Jesus was born of the Spirit of God, not the will of man. So by His very nature – that He has always been – if He is to live as man, He has to be born of the Spirit. If Jesus came into the world like us, He would have the same fallen nature as we do. * What does the Bible say about having alcoholic drinks?
