God’s Will, Your Benefits – Lesson 4

Today we take a look at Promises 3 and 4 of the New Covenant. Promise 3 is “they will all know Me” (Hebrews 8:11). The New Covenant opens the way for us to know Him personally and intimately. Jesus defined eternal life in John 17:3 – “Now this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” It is so powerful in its simplicity. Eternal life is defined in terms of relationship, not longevity. Promise 4 is “I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more” (Hebrews 8:12). Forgiveness is the foundation stone that holds everything else. In the New Covenant, your sins are totally forgiven – past, present, and future. God chooses to remember them no more. Rather than looking forward to, or begging for, forgiveness, you can rest knowing that Jesus Christ’ sacrifice removed your sins as far as the east is from the west. That’s some good news!

About Basic Gospel

Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, Bob grew up in a Christian home and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 13. During his high school and college years, Bob struggled with the question of how to live the Christian life. His "roller-coaster" experience taught him that he didn't have what it took to be "God's guy." More info: https://basicgospel.net/about/bob-christopher/
