Saved by the Resurrection

How important was the resurrection to Peter? In 1 Peter 1:3-5 we read “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.” He continues in chapter 3 “It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ” * I show higher reverence for God over Jesus. Is that correct? * How did resurrection become know as Easter?
* Who is the author referring to in Hebrews 6:4-8?
* What does it mean to “again crucify to themselves the Son of God”? * Is this happening today?
* How important is it to understand the history, setting and culture of the times when Jesus taught? Can we really “get it” without that?
* Can you explain what Jesus meant by Matthew 16:28 – “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”? They did die and didn’t see this happen.

About Basic Gospel

Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, Bob grew up in a Christian home and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 13. During his high school and college years, Bob struggled with the question of how to live the Christian life. His "roller-coaster" experience taught him that he didn't have what it took to be "God's guy." More info: https://basicgospel.net/about/bob-christopher/
